We are proud to announce a significant milestone in GBF’s journey: as of 1st June 2023 we officially transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) structure. This strategic move marks a new chapter in our story—one that places our people at the very heart of our business and secures our long-term independence and values.
What Is an Employee Ownership Trust?
An Employee Ownership Trust is a business structure where a controlling interest in the company is held in trust on behalf of its employees. Introduced by the UK government in 2014, EOTs aim to encourage more businesses to adopt employee ownership, with benefits including enhanced engagement, productivity, and long-term sustainability.
